Into The Paranormal 2

~Written By Jacqueline S. Foreman~

Recently, I went to the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, MA to conduct an investigation with Christopher Moon, owner and senior editor of my favorite paranormal publication Haunted Times www.hauntedtimes.com I was intrigued by Chris because he often talks about a device he uses during investigations called ‘The Telephone To The Dead’, formerly known as ‘Frank’s Box’. Allegedly, this ‘Telephone To The Dead’ allows you to speak to spirits that have crossed over in their own voice. To say the least like any good paranormal investigator, I was extremely skeptical about ‘The Telephone To The Dead’. It just sounded too good to be true. I have gotten many EVP’s during investigations (ranging from class A to class C) but to get live, real time EVP’s just sounded too amazing to be true.

When I met Chris Moon at the Lizzie Borden House, I liked him instantly. He was down to earth, easy to get along with and extremely open and friendly. Not at all what I was expecting from someone who is so well known in the paranormal field. I have found that most of the people in this field (not all) are great people. I was also fortunate enough to meet Chris Moon’s director of marketing for Haunted Times Magazine, Dina Everling. She was equally as wonderful and I could feel so much good energy coming from her. Sometimes you can just feel someone’s soul and in this instance I could feel that Chris and Dina were two good souls.

Soon after meeting, it was time for my private reading with the ‘Telephone To The Dead’ (TTTD) and I have to tell you my expectations were low. I didn’t expect it to work. I didn’t think Dina and Chris were trying to “pull the wool over my eyes” by any means, but I was just very skeptical about this controversial piece of equipment. Within seconds of Chris turning the device on his technician Ty came through loud and clear, they asked me who I wanted to contact. I asked for my girlfriend who passed away in 1993. She came through loud and clear IN HER OWN VOICE! I almost fell off my chair. I was dumbfounded. I asked her questions that only she would know the answer to like her nickname, and she answered correctly. I asked her when she crossed over and she said “Three weeks ago” I was surprised by this response since she had been dead for 15 years so I asked her where she had been all this time and she said “With Michael.” Michael is her son who was 10 when she died. I was also able to make contact with my maternal grandfather, my brother’s ex-fiancĂ© who recently passed and my ex-brother-in law. The things that they knew could not have been known by anyone else. I did not know Chris and Dina before the reading and I did not share any information with them before the reading. Even if they Googgled me, they would not have been able to get this level of information about my dead relatives and friends. I was floored.

Later that evening, we used the device in our investigation at the Lizzie Borden House and the session was dominated by Andrew Borden who was and remains a very evil man. I am almost thinking that he deserved 40 whacks with an Axe. Also, when I looked at the black and white crime scene photos I noticed that there was absolutely no blood splatter. I have a certification in Forensic Science and if someone kills you with an axe there is going to be a lot of blood splatter on the walls the ceiling, etc. In these photos, no blood splatter at all, so it is my belief that this was the secondary crime scene and Abby and Andrew Borden were killed somewhere else and then the crime scene at the house was staged. It is also a widely held belief that Andrew Borden molested his daughters and when I was in the parlor where he died, (or at least was found dead) I was alone and I confronted him and asked him if it was true, if he hurt Lizzie and her sister. I had my recorder going to see if I could pick up any EVP evidence. Then I went upstairs to join the rest of the group who was using The Telephone To The Dead, when I walked in the room Andrew Borden instantly started calling me awful names that I cannot mention in this article. I asked him if he knew my name, he said “Yes, it’s whore.” I asked him if he knew where I was from and he said “Yes, the streets,” Nice guy. I told him I was not afraid of him, then I told him that he was dead and could not hurt me. The people around me thought I was nuts because I was spending the night in Andrew and Abby’s bedroom that evening and sleeping in their bed (which was comfortable as hell by the way!) He told me that “There was going to be blood tonight.” I went on to tell him that he did not scare me, that I was protected by the God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I also told him that before I left Fall River I was going to go to his grave and put a cross on it and he screamed “Don’t you dare!” (I did do it before I left).

That night I slept like a baby. If Andrew Borden showed up as a full body apparition, I missed it because I was exhausted by the time the investigation ended at 2 AM. The wake up time for breakfast was 7:45 AM and they tried three times to wake me up, I finally stumbled downstairs at 9:15 AM in my pajamas with my hair standing on end and no slippers or socks. It was like it was my house. I ate a great breakfast, went back up to Andrew’s room and took a nice, hot shower, said my goodbye’s to Dina and Chris, headed for the cemetery and then headed to Brooklyn, NY to visit a good friend of mine before I went back home to New Jersey.

If anyone is interested in conducting an investigation with Chris Moon or using the ‘Telephone To The Dead’ or subscribing to the awesome publication Haunted Times visit their website at www.hauntedtimes.com. I do not endorse many people, I take my reputation as a paranormal investigator very seriously, but Chris Moon and Dina Everling are incredible investigators and phenomenal people. You will not be disappointed by the experience, trust me on this.

My next adventure is a class with renowned psychic Nancy Orlen Weber on May 30th in North Jersey and then another event in Iowa with Chris Moon and Dina Everling and then dinner and a cemetery investigation with Lorraine Warren. I will let you know what happens with all of these upcoming events! If you are interested in hearing an interview that I did on my radio show with Chris Moon and Dina Everling you can go to my website at www.blogtalkradio.com/yourmentalhealth. the name of the show is ‘The Dead Never Leave Us With Christopher Moon’ and it aired on April 26th but it is in the archives. You can also use the link:

It was a great show so I hope you have the chance to listen to it. Until next time, happy investigating my paranormal friends!

Stull Cemetery Haunting: Fact or Fiction?

~Written By Pattyhap1863~

Stull Cemetery located in the small town of Stull, Kansas, is said to harbor all sorts of things: ghosts, witches’ graves, and even the Devil himself! In fact, it is dubbed one of the Seven Gateways to Hell, though I am not sure what or where the other six are.

There are countless accounts all over the net on this cemetery. One of the most persistent is that the Devil himself appeared here and sired a son with a witch. This boy was said to have been born deformed and had the “ability” to shape-shift. There is even an alleged photo of a the ghost boy that looks like a werewolf peeking from behind a tree, though nobody has ever seen it.

Pictures of Stull Cemetery on the net, all show a ruined house with no roof. The legend of this ruined house is that it was a barn where the mayor was said to have been stabbed to death in the 1850’s. This barn was later converted to a church, and was subsequently destroyed by fire. This however is far from the truth. In fact there never was a mayor in Stull at that time. The stories continue with improbable gems such as the allegation that when it rains, no rain falls inside the roofless church. Eventually in March 2002, after one of its walls collapsed, the church was torn down.

Stull Cemetery

Abandoned ruined church in Stull Cemetery.

Another story concerns the grave of a witch. Fairly near to the old church there is indeed a gravestone bearing the inscription “Wittich”. The stories tell of the ghost of a white haired witch haunting the area, who gets very upset if you step on her grave. Evp’s have allegedly been captured, where she is said to scream: “Keep away from my bones!” and “Watch your step!”

Quite a big discrepancy occurs over the place name. Rumor has it that the name of the town and cemetery used to be “Skull” and it was later changed to Stull to cover up all the witchcraft and black magic taking place there. Again this proves to be a fabrication, and the truth is far less dramatic. The town was originally called Deer Creek Community and the name was later changed to Stull in honor of its postmaster, Sylvester Stull.

Another rumor is that around 1993 or 1995 (depending on which version you hear), the Pope was said to have ordered his plane to fly around eastern Kansas while traveling to Colorado because he did not want to fly over unholy ground!

So, is Stull Cemetery haunted or not? Unfortunately, this is one of the cases where university and college students start an urban legend, and this, in turn, invalidates any true paranormal activity that may have taken place in the cemetery.

Below is a link to a video on Stull Cemetery and its legends that I came across on the net. You will also hear an EVP in this video. Maybe there is hope that Stull is actually haunted, but we will never know until a more serious investigation is carried out.

The Myrtles Plantation

~Written By Pattyhap1863~

You may be familiar with the Myrtle’s Plantation, located in the West Feliciana town of St. Francisville, Louisiana, as it has a reputation for being very haunted. Those most noted are two ghost girls, ghost soldiers from the Civil War and Chloe, the ghost of a slave wearing a green turban. There is even a ghostly photograph that circulates the net where we can see Chloe for ourselves, hiding around the corner of one of the plantation’s main buildings. However, after having done some research on the different hauntings of Myrtle’s Plantation, I was surprised to discover that the real history behind the place was a shocker!

Myrtles Plantation

The plantation itself was said to be owned by Judge Bradford, his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Sarah. When Clark Woodrooff (who later changed his name to Woodruff) graduated with honors after having been taken under Judge Bradford’s wing, he had already fallen in love with the lovely Sarah. They married and had three children, Cornelia Gale, James, and Mary Octavia and might have lived happily ever after at the plantation, if misfortune hadn’t struck them all.

The story most commonly told is that Woodruff had taken a lover, a black slave girl called Chloe. After having used and abused her, he promptly grew tired of her and sought another girl elsewhere. Chloe was working for the household at the time and was a bit of a busybody who liked to listen into conversations. One day when eavesdropping, she was caught in the act by Woodruff who was so angry that he cut off one of her ears. She was then sent to work out in the field (which she hated) and began to wear a turban for obvious reasons. She wanted to get back to the house so badly, that a thought occurred to her. As one of the girls would be celebrating a birthday, she baked a cake to which she added some oleander leaves which are said to be poisonous. What she had in mind was to nurse the girls back to health and this way gain entrance back to the house. However, she miscalculated the dose, and Sarah and her two daughters died as a result. To this day, the ghost girls are said to be seen playing in the gardens. True? Think again! When we dig a little deeper into the history of the place, the story looks quite different. Sarah, the mother, was not poisoned at all! She died from Yellow Fever in 1823 during one of the epidemics that swept through Louisiana. Her son James and her daughter Cornelia also died from Yellow Fever, and even though the ghost tale mentions that the second daughter died from the poisoned cake, the truth is that she lived with her father at the plantation until her grandmother died and they both moved out to live at Woodruff’s plantation north of New Orleans. Woodruff died there in 1851.

Now what about the ghost of the black slave in a green turban? Is it Chloe? The fact is that historical records and the plantation records, don’t mention a Chloe, or ‘Cleo’ as she is sometimes referred to. So, it’s possible that she never existed! But what of the ghostly photograph and the tales? Apparently, these may have some basis of truth in them. There was a family ghost (a ghost lady wearing a green bonnet or turban) who was affectionately called Chloe, and the name stuck, but her ghost is reported to be that of an older lady. Perhaps this is the basis for the legend of Chloe the servant?

Another legend concerns a soldier who was shot at the front door. But there is also no record of any soldiers ever being shot or killed at the plantation. There is however, one man that was shot outside the front door on the porch. His name was William Drew Winter, who went outside to confront someone who was looking for him and was instantly shot! Winter died on the spot, so did not drag himself up the staircase to die in his wife’s arms on step number 17, as is reported to have happened.

Another legend concerns a mirror which is said to have the imprints of Sarah Woodruff and her two girls in them. The truth is that the mirror is old, and the handprints which have been seen are likely to be those left by restorers following the replacement of the silvering, or else could be those left by cleaners. Faces in the mirror have also been noted in photographs. However, ordinary smudges, along with the flash reflected in the mirror are probably responsible … pareidolia at its best!

Into The Paranormal

~Written By Jacqueline S. Foreman~

Hello everyone! Do you wonder where I’ve been? Well for those of you who give a shit I have been in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Burlington NJ. Why? You may ask
.and here is the answer, my sister Sherry and I are paranormal investigators with Orion Paranormal. You can checkout the web site at orionparanormal. com and us there under the Mid-Atlantic Region. Yes dear friends, I have been ghost hunting. In all seriousness. It has been pretty interesting.

The first place we went was Portsmouth, NH. We investigated a haunted Irish pub and a lighthouse. Now let me explain something…it was 70 degrees outside when we left NYC. When I we got to Portsmouth it was snowing. We were totally unprepared for such a dramatic change in the weather. Being inside the pub was fine, it was horrible when we reached the light house. The wind was whipping around and we had to cross this little wooden bridge that extended from the shore to the light house that was on a little island in the water. Did I mention that it was midnight and snowing and that there were jagged rocks pointing up through the water? I have a weird fear of bridges but I did not want to look like a punk so I walked across the bridge but I was going slow. Some guy named Chris was jumping on the bridge shaking it. I turned around and told him I was going to bust him in the face with my camcorder if he did not stop. He stopped.

On the first leg of the investigation we were in the basement of the pub and the lights kept turning on and off. Then my sister started acting weird like she was going to cry, now keep in mind we went into this situation blind. We had no history on the pub or its occupants . Sherry said she had to get out of there so we did. In the parlor she said that she felt like she had been sexually assaulted. Well, we found out that the pub had been a bordello and that many sailors had been through the doors to see the women who lived there. There was a woman named Lilly who was a cook. She was dragged down to the basement and raped. That is what Sherry was feeling. It rated about a 5.7 on my spookometer. It was really trippy. We picked up no paranormal activity at the lighthouse. So, It was about 2am and we were ready to get some gas and turn in to prepare for the investigation the next evening in a private home in New Hampshire.

Now we had a problem, we were on “E” and there was not one gas station in the whole town! We took a chance and got on the expressway and found a gas station immediately. God was looking out for us! After that we got to our hotel which we could see clearly from the road but could not get ro from where we were
it was like a maze that we had to solve to get there. So after about 20 minutes spent trying to get there we were finally make it. I got out of the car to get my bag and the wind almost carried me away. My sister said “WTF? Are we in Alaska?” I started laughing hysterically because I was so tired. Then as we moved toward the entrance her suitcase exploded. That was my breaking point. I was like “Sherry get it together or I am going to die out here!” She growled something back at me and tried to get her luggage to cooperate. After she got it closed we finally made it into the hotel lobby. We dropped everything right there and checked in. We were at the Wyndham and they did not have porters for our luggage so I was pissed because we had to carry everything ourselves.

Then when I think things can’t get any worse, our room was all the way at the end of the hall on the right side. We got there and once again dropped all our equipment and luggage. Now just when I think my nightmare is over, I am tossed into Dante’s 7th circle of hell. The key did not work. So we tried the other key, it did not work either. That is when Sherry began to kick the door. It was so pitiful that I laughed until I cried. She grabbed a can of coke and told me to watch everything and she would go back to get the situation fixed. When she returned she said, “I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that we have a new room, the bad news is that it is all the way down at the opposite end of the hall.” I think that is when I started to loose it, I was like forget it I am going to just lay here in the hall and sleep I am too tired to take another step. So as we dragged our stuff to the new room. I complained the entire time and Sherry was like, “Will you shut up? I was really tired but we finally made it to the room. I dropped everything and dove into one of the beds. I would have slept with my clothes on but my sister told me to go get my jammies on so she could have the bathroom next. I did so and hit the bed again and I passed out. I did not wake until 10 am.

I spoke to Sherry about breakfast and she rolled over and gave me the finger. I think that meant that she had no intention of getting up. So I went back to sleep until 1pm. I just could not sleep any more. I got up and showered and dressed for the day then I read some books on how paranormal investigations should be carried out. Finally at 5pm Sherry woke up and went to shower. We did not have to be to the next investigation until 7:30 pm. So I ordered everything on the room service menu to be delivered to our room. It was enough food to feed six people and I did not give care, I was starving!. I wanted to taste everything. When Sherry saw all the food she laughed and said the ghost or demons made me hungry. We ate and got our equipment ready for the evening. We took our equipment and made it to the investigation on time.

We had a Medium/Psychic named Shari with us and she was good. I could not figure out how she did it but she was really awesome. The problem was that the wife was seeing and hearing things and her husband did not believe her. She wanted to prove that she was not crazy. The team was briefed on the situation except for Shari, she needed to go in blind so her evidence would not be contaminated. We mounted camcorders and recording devices all over the house. Then we went into the living room and the power was cut. We waited in the darkness to see or hear something. If we could not hear or see it we were hoping that our equipment picked something up. Then the medium started to speak but the message was not for the wife, it was for her husband. The entity called itself Michael’s grandfather and told us that he used to be with him all the time. He helped to raise him. He asked if Michael remembered going to the junk yard looking for pieces to build him a bike, well let me tell you, Mike is a BIG man built like a lumberjack and he fell apart and cried like a baby. It was really something to witness. Shari gave him so much more information and let him know that Grandpa was not going into the light until he damn well pleased because he had built the house and he had a right to be there. He told them that they should not have removed a support beam and that they needed to put it back. He promised not to scare them anymore and that he really just wanted to watch over the family as long as he could. I have never witnessed anything like it. It was beautiful. A man who believed in nothing finally had proof of God and an afterlife. So having proved that his wife was not crazy we packed up our equipment and left. I have my camcorder tape, and sound recordigs (EVP’s) and am currently analyzing the data for anything important. Needless to say the whole experience was wonderful but emotionally draining. I was asked to join Orion Paranormal which I did and I can’t wait for the next outing. We were thinking of doing this cemetery that looks more like a Necropolis in Brooklyn, and an Indian reservation in NJ next. What ever it is I will be sure to keep you all informed. Next, I’ll tel you about my investigation at the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, MA with Chris Moon of Haunted Times Magazine. It was AWESOME!

A look into Residual Hauntings and Timeslips

Apr23

~Written By Cassandra~

Most of us believe that ghosts confirm that there is life after death. A person dies, and must move on right? Those who do not move on, and choose to remain, haunt a place. Often the hauntings go on because the ghost cannot leave as he is looking for retribution, revenge or wishes to attend to unfinished business.

Now if you all take the sightings reported and were to classify them, you would end up with very few sightings that refer to an intelligent type of haunting, which would be what I described at the beginning of this article. The most common type of hauntings that we come across describe residual hauntings, which are not the ghost itself, but actually an imprint of the ghost re-enacting a scene. So, the stories we read are about an entire battle coming to life before our eyes, as if it were happening at that moment, for example, or of a murder being executed before our very eyes, or the last moments of a person before he faces a violent death. We also can come across stories that tell us of ghosts dressed in period clothing going through everyday tasks and seemingly moving through walls. In most of these cases, the ghost seems to lack legs, as if standing on the floor of a place that has previously existed. I have also run into explanations of how residual hauntings are impossible. This involves the electromagnetic spectrum and how matter absorbs it. According to this, we cannot leave an imprint on our surroundings. However, in order to accept this, I would like to have read the explanation of the electromagnetic spectrum and how certain quartzes or metals, such as iron, are affected by it. I have not been able to find this explanation on the net yet. I do believe that quartzes or limestone, granite and iron have a lot to do with residual hauntings. It is a hypothesis, sure! But it is a step towards trying to explain something that people continue to experience frequently.

Now let’s take a look at time slips. Time slips are also a hypothesis that is out there. The fact is that time is not linear, and this has been proved. So, it is natural to be able to come up with a number of hypothesis to try to explain certain anomalous phenomena. Time slips have been put into books and movies for some time now. Nobody knows for sure why time slips happen, but there are some pretty bizarre stories on the net about them. Most include interaction with people from the past, who are wearing period clothes and who actually talk back or acknowledge your presence. Most of the people who witness the time slip often report that they feel funny, sounds seem to be absent or muffled, or that they really seem to have stepped into the past as the scene they witness before them does not exist in the present. They know this because they have even returned to the place where they saw this and the houses/buildings/people have seemingly vanished without a trace. Others also report that sometimes the time slip does not show them a scene, but a person. One of these cases involves a clerk at a bookshop. This old man even sold the two women some books, but when they returned the next day to look for him, they discovered that this man was gone and according to the clerk there, had never been seen before. I’ve also read story in a paranormal magazine about an old man appearing in Disneyland, where he gazed at everything in awe. The person who noticed him, even approached him and gave him his remaining tickets so that he could visit the rest of the attractions. Much to his amazement, some time after, this man identified the lost stranger as Alfred Watkins, who had studied ley lines and had published a book about them in 1925. The problem was that Mr. Watkins had died long ago and this man had seen and talked to him in 1980! (Fate magazine, April 2008 issue)

What about time slips and ghosts, I hear you ask. Well, I have this theory about ghosts. What if the ghosts in question are NOT ghosts but the ACTUAL people who somehow interact with the people in the present? In this case, WE would be the ghosts!!! Does this seem too far-fetched to you? Well, recently on an episode of Ghost Hunters, they actually caught some pretty interesting EVP’s that actually may confirm this theory! Click the link below to look at what they caught. Note that the quality of the video sucks, as this is a recording of the TV screen monitor. For a clearer video, click on the second link, but this second link also includes the beginning of their second investigation which is not what I want to point out here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVvEVpr8l20

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fkX0LntF-8

Notice that the ‘princess’ who is the ghost that is apparently speaking to them, cannot see them, but seems to hear them perfectly. This is especially significant since they do not see her at any time, only hear her when playing back the audio. Time slips refer specifically to visual rather than auditory. So can we consider this example to confirm the theory mentioned above? For now, I would say it confirms that these time slips do seem to occur and in these cases we may very well be disembodied voices to the past human being if it is auditory, and appear as ghosts to them if it is visual!

Fascinating stuff isn’t it? We may very well be the ghosts that we think we see!
