Tall, Blonde, and… Ghost!

by Season

2004

It was early fall/late summer and I was preparing for bed. I laid down in my daughter’s room but couldn’t go to sleep because it was too muggy and hot. I was hesitant to open the window because under no circumstances would I ever leave a window open at night while I slept. But I didn’t want to turn the air on so I decided to go ahead and open it for a few minutes just until I cooled off. I was so tired that as soon as the cool air hit me I fell right to sleep, leaving the window open.

The next thing I know someone is at the side of my bed near my head trying to wake me up. This is so hard to explain but I couldn’t hear or see who it was but it was just as real as someone physical standing right there trying to wake me. I rolled over and said in an impatient voice, “what?” For some reason I didn’t even wait for them to answer before I rolled back over and fell back to sleep. Once again, someone is trying desperately hard to get my attention so for the second time I rolled over and in an even more grouchy voice said, “WHAT??” Again, for reasons I can’t explain I just turned back around and fell asleep. The only way I can describe it is that it was some kind of a mental pull. The third time I turned around I saw him. He was tall with sandy blonde hair, dull blue or green eyes, and a long nose. He was wearing a plain beige or beige with paisley design long-sleeved button down shirt, white shirt on underneath, with same colored slacks. I couldn’t see him from the knee down.

To my third grouchy “what” he gently said, “I’m showing you, I’m showing you” and was pointing. His voice was in my mind, like telepathy. I followed the direction in which he was pointing to and after my eyes adjusted to the light (it was early morning by then) I saw that my window was open. I said, “oh” and promptly got up and shut the window. I then laid down back in bed and went back to sleep.

I don’t’ know who it was or how he knew that I wouldn’t have wanted to fall asleep with my window open, but I sure appreciate his thoughtfulness. I felt really bad the next morning because as I remembered the event I realized that not only was I cranky with him for waking me up, but I hadn’t even told him thank you. So I thanked him then and hoped that he may have still been around to hear.

Creepy Critters

by Season

2004

Ok, this one sounds crazy even to my own ears, but I can only tell the truth about what happened, and this is what happened. One day I was sitting in my living room on the floor cleaning and organizing my cds and dvds. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two black objects “scurrying” across the floor to my right. When I looked directly at them, they were gone. I shook it off and went about my task. A few seconds later they appeared again and this time when I looked directly at them I noticed that they disappeared around the corner towards the hall. I leaned over and glanced down the hall and there at the end of it were these two “creatures” “hopping” over each other. They disappeared into my bedroom and were gone. The doorway to my bedroom at the back of the house is the site of a lot of happenings that I will talk about later. Again, I shook it off and told myself my eyes were playing tricks on me.

A few nights later I was sitting on my couch reading a book when I got a glimpse of these same two creatures again. From where I was on the couch I could see down the hall. They once again disappeared into my bedroom. The description of these creatures is going to sound very bizarre but the only way I can describe them is that they looked like a cross between a spider and a bat. Weird I know, but the truth. It had four legs extended out and then down like a spider but it had a head like a bat. I have never in my life seen anything like it and had no idea what they were. They were hyper little creatures though.

About a week had gone by with no further sightings so I figured whatever they were, they had moved on. Unfortunately that was not the case as later that night they appeared again. I was asleep in my daughters room (she was at a relatives) when something woke me up. When my eyes focused, I realized I was looking right at these two creatures in the doorway to the room. They were once again hopping around and over each other and looking at me. I thought maybe I was having a nightmare when to my disbelief I realized that I was wide awake and these creatures were not going away. In a firm voice I told them to “go away” then rolled over to go back to sleep. I got the feeling that they hadn’t done what I said so just a few seconds later I turned back around to see if they had left. They didn’t and were still doing the same thing in the doorway.

All of a sudden one of them jumped up on the bed and hopped from one side of me to the other. I yelled, “stop that” but for the first time that I had told something to leave (which I will elaborate on later) they didn’t. The other one stayed by the door doing little hops from side to side while my bedmate continued to hop around the bed, to the floor, and back on the bed again. Again I told it to stop to no avail. I followed this thing with eyes for about a minute just in shock that this was even happening. I could tell it was looking at me but I could not see it’s eyes. Finally, I got louder and said in an even firmer voice, “Go away, now!!” and they did.

Just as I thought it was over and was laying back down to go to sleep, something from underneath the bed lifted up the mattress (I was on a bunk bed, bottom bunk, with only a thin mattress and rails) right at my stomach area. I came up on two hands as this thing pushed me up and watched the mattress come up with my own eyes. I got a mental image of the creature on it’s back lifting up with it’s feet. For the last time I told it to stop and go away. That was the last time I ever saw these creatures again. I had never heard, seen, nor read anything close to what these were so afterwards I did an internet search and came up across word “imp”. I don’t know if that’s what paid me a visit but it sure sounds like it to me.

Free Money!

by Bill

One time, a friend and I were at my house talking to the board. I don’t know how the subject came up, but the board told us that a couple hundred yards behind my house there were pine trees, and between two pine trees, we would find two dollars. So, we went back there to check, and sure enough there were two dollars just laying there. He kept one, and I kept one.

For the record. Neither one of us could have planted the money there without the other knowing about it, and we didn’t really have other friends to get them to do it for us. Also, neither one of us could afford to give a buck to the other, not even as a prank.

Theres no LOGICAL way to explain this experience.

Kerr

by Bill

Back when I was about 12 or 13, I had a friend who pretty much lived at my house and vice-versa. We were inseparable at the time. Anyway, neither he nor I had two nickels to rub together, so we needed to discover a way to have easy, and inexpensive fun. For a while, we had ourselves hooked on ‘playing around’ with the Ouija board.

He and I decide to try the thing in a local cemetery. We get there and sit down under a tree and get the pointer moving. We quickly make contact with someone who called themselves B. Kerr. We sat there, and asked the normal stupid questions for a while, and finally asked it if it’s remains could be found in that particular cemetery. This thing told me to look behind me and to the left, and there would be a large tree next to a smaller bush. Of course, when I turned around to look, that’s exactly what I saw.

We stopped, and went over to the tree. Right between the tree and the bush there was a gravestone. The name on it was William Kerr. That day proved to me that the board was real.

The Wind Began To Switch…

by Red

I was raised in a good Catholic home, and was never exposed to anything like tarot cards, magic (except illusionists,) divination of any sort, or Ouija boards.  I’ve always had a vivid imagination, and I used to be quite sheltered and gullible.  That changed when I was 13 years old.  I had my first and last experiences with a Ouija board.

I was at my best friend’s house, which interestingly was a house away from being next door to a very nice, hilly cemetery.  She had made a homemade Ouija board out of cardboard and a permanent marker.  The planchette was a piece of paper with a hole cut out of the middle.  We asked questions, and mostly just got gibberish, until it finally spelled out “GCARR”.  That was it. . GCARR.  Then we just got more gibberish, and moving around without stopping on anything.  As it was a little cool, but still a nice, sunny day out, we decided to go for a walk.  We went down the road, and into the well kept cemetery.  We went about reading the grave stone markers, pointing out anything interesting we found.

At the top of the big hill, there was a great big stone, a family marker for the other smaller graves to the sides of it.  If you looked out my friend’s bedroom window, this was the stone you could see.  The name on this stone read “George Carr”.  Of course, we thought this MUST be our “GCARR” from the board, and we thought he must be trying to communicate!  We went back to the house to get the board, and our idea was to sneak it into the cemetery and use it there, thinking we’d get better answers.  (We had to sneak it so her parents and the neighbors wouldn’t think we were up to no-good, which in a way, we were.)

We walked the block down to the cemetery with the board folded and stuffed under my friend’s jacket, and just as we got to the entrance of the cemetery, the wind picked up.  It had been completely still a moment before, but again, this is Michigan.  We got a few yards up the little paved road, and the wind got even stronger.  We really took notice of it now.  It seemed to have come out of nowhere.  The further into the cemetery we tried to walk, the stronger the wind blew at us, until our hair was whipping out behind us, and we were blinking from the sting of it in our faces.  The wind became so strong, we physically couldn’t go any further, and, by now we were scared.

We turned around and hurried out of the cemetery, the wind chasing us the whole way back.  Here’s what sealed the experience as strange:  The second we stepped past the front entrance, the fierce wind stopped completely.  It just died down, like it had never happened, and was completely still.  We couldn’t have been given a more absolute sign that our presence, (or that of the board,) was not wanted.  We walked back to her house, and foolishly, brought out the board one more time.

Besides the regular gibberish, it started spewing hateful, frightening, and ridiculous messages and answers to questions.  It told me I was going to die at age 44.  (Only about 16 years from now, I should hope not!)  It told me that a crazy multi-jeweled broach I liked to wear was evil, and would kill me.  (I was scared enough to get rid of it eventually.  It was hideously gaudy anyway.)  I don’t recall what it told my friend, but the messages were equally scary for her.  Being a Catholic girl, I was wearing a small gold cross, which I perceived to be heating up as I wore it.  I was scared, so I said a prayer.  My friend at the time was an atheist, so she did not.  I had my eyes closed, (because that’s how we played, so we couldn’t direct the planchette ourselves,) and my friend said that she had opened her eyes before the planchette stopped moving.  She said she saw two white fingers on the planchette next to mine, and two red ones next to hers.  This is about the time we decided to quit.

The board apparently wasn’t ready to quit.  My friend folded up the board, and put it in the trash.  The next morning, it was under her bed.  This time, she ripped it up, and threw it away.  The next morning, it was under her bed in one piece, with crease marks where she had ripped it.  Finally, she took it in the back yard and burned it, and that was the last we saw of it.  That was also the last time I played with a homemade Ouija board.

I could explain a lot of that experience away as an overactive imagination, or say that maybe my friend was just playing one big prank on me and being so gullible, I really fell for it.  But the one thing I couldn’t have made up in my imagination or explained was the forceful wind that blew us out of the cemetery.  That, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to convince myself that it was anything other than something of a paranormal nature.
